DTF Transfer Heat Press Instructions
Step 1:
Set heat press pressure to 60 lbs. or the max pressure setting for your heat press. Set temperature based on your garment material.
- 275°F for Polyester & Tri-Blend
- 300°F for 50/50
- 310°F for Cotton
Step 2:
Pre-press garment for 3 seconds to ensure all moisture and wrinkles are removed.
Step 3:
Position your transfer in the desired location. A transfer alignment tool can be very helpful to guarantee proper positioning of transfer. Secure transfer with heat resistant tape or painters tape.
Step 4:
Press the transfer at
- Polyester & Tri-Blend: 275°F / 3 Seconds
- 50/50: 300°F / 3 seconds
- Cotton: 310-325°F / 3 seconds
Step 5:
Once pressed, peel film immediately. If parts of the design are not sticking, lay it back down and press again with added pressure and heat (+15°F). If unsuccessful, increase heat by 15°F increments until it works. Repeated pressing won't damage the transfer.
Step 6:
After the design is transferred onto the garment, with the film peeled off, cover the transfer with parchment paper and re-press for 3 seconds. By doing so, it enhances the value of your product by greatly improving the durability and softness as well as reducing the shine. For a glossy look, use a teflon sheet for the final press instead of parchment paper.
